Review for Mary Queen of All Nations Missionary Alliance, Dover, NJ, USA
Dear Merla M. Ricafranca,
Fr.Matthew Uzhunnalil SDB whom you used to help in his terrible mission area Yemen, is with me in the seminary, Kristu Jyothi College. He worked 18 years in North East India and developed many centers for the uplift of the poor of the area. He built chapels, schools to educate the poor children and also opened small dispensaries to help poor people who had no resources to go to a private hospital where they need to pay heavily.
He built up the first seminary at Dibrugarh in the North East corner of India- that has given to the North East India one archbishop and two bishops. The priest trained here are working for the poor and uneducated tribal people and making them come up in the society.
The superiors felt the need of sending Fr.Matthew to a very difficult mission field Yemen. There he got back the church lands nationalized and rebuilt the churches destroyed by the Islamic fundamentalist elements. Fr. Matthew due to age and sickness, after 16 years of work, could not continue to work in Yemen. He was sent to this major seminary where we have students of theology by the Provincial superior. As at the time of Don Bosco we have no reserve fund for the education of the seminarians.
I can say that all the 1,500 priests who completed their priestly studies here during the past 47 years were always helped by generous and kind hearted people.
As I was struggling to keep up the seminary students, Fr. Matthew approached Merla M. Ricafranca who, despite her very limited resources came forward to help a few seminarians who otherwise may find it hard to proceed in their seminary studies. We can never thank her enough for the help that she gives us and we pray that generous people or charitable organizations will generously come to her aid so that the Mary Queen of all Nations Missionary Alliance can continue the good work.
We shall pray to God Almighty to bless all those who contribute to the Mary Queen of all Nations Missionary Alliance.
