My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for The Jewish Congregation of Maui, Kihei, HI, USA
Aug. 14 2008, I moved to Maui and did not know a soul. The Jewish Congregation of Maui was very warm and welcoming. It was easy to become envolved with volunteering to help with the activities and events. Rabbi David Glickman is an amazing man. He puts his whole heart into teaching and helping the congregation grow. The times have been difficult this year; Rabbi's determination and perservance have been encouraging. He is committed. The Board of Directors have pressed through and looked at every possibility for growth and endurance. I feel blessed to be part of a congregation that loves the Jewish people, their community and Israel. JCM is an inspiration!
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Their love, endurance, committment, and perservance. They inspire the higher qualities in me.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Because of the beauty in this congregation, I volunteered to be the Volunteer Coordinator and help be sure the events are successful. I am responsible to build the volunteer pool to ensure the successful events.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Expand the physical facilities and expand the Kitchen facilities. The Kitchen is inadequate for the size of the community it serves. Be able to hire staff to have the office run smoothly. We need a social hall for all the events.
Ways to make it better...
I am inspired by them as they are.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Funding! They need more funding to grow and serve the Jewish community. Having more staff in the office. They need larger offices, equipment and supplies.
One thing I'd also say is that...
The Rabbi and Board of Directors are very committed to JCM and serve unselfishly through hard times and difficult circumstances. I applaud them for the example that they set in leading JCM.
