KALAMAZOO ANIMAL RESCUE
August 25, 2013

This organization probably saved our lives, certainly our marriage. Rebecca brought brought her family over thirty miles on a Saturday to help us. She'll do much more beyond this, single day, we know, but we were awed by the dedication and skills of her young people for this work. About this, I was moved by something Rebecca said when asked if she'll ever take a break. "I tell them we'll take a break when people spay and neuter their pets," she said, and I know exactly what she means now. It's like, "Now that the animals are here we're going to care for them, by God!" Unfortunately I and my family don't have what it takes to really do that. Fortunately, very fortunately, Rebecca and her family does.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I honestly can't think of a thing. I only wish I could support them more.

A small family of feral cats adopted our home and family to serve their needs and we managed it, for a time. When we were utterly overwhelmed and didn't know where to turn we were turned down for help by every cat advocacy program in Kalamazoo. When it looked like it was going to be us or them for survival we expanded our range for appeals all the way to Indiana. Only Voiceless heard and answered.

Everything others have written here has been true of our experience as well. Holly seemed to know precisely how to help best. She was warm, professional, and never judged us for not doing more. When DH balked at driving our charges so far Holly even fixed that! We really couldn't have imagined the kindness and generosity of this organization. They deserve every bit of help any animal lover can give them.

The first reviewer beat me to it...Expansion! Perhaps one day they might expand their mission to include training other animal advocates how to do advocacy?
