My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Healthprom, London, , United Kingdom
In two weeks I will be heading off to Moscow to complete my two year MA degree from UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. Since I had free time on my hands between studies this summer, I decided to look for a volunteer position to get better acquainted with the charity sector. After searching online I found out about HealthProm and thought that it sounded like just the place for me, and luckily they took me in as a volunteer!
My time at HealthProm has been very rewarding and educational. My supervisor Tanya has not only been incredibly nice, but also given me a wide range of interesting tasks and responsibilities. My main task has been fundraising, from funding research to assisting with grant writing. I have also been able to attend a charity seminar in London, do background research and country files as well as liaising with embassies in Eurasian region. During my time at HealthProm I have felt that my input has been valued very much and my skills trusted and put to use.
I leave HealthProm feeling that I have learned immensely about the charity sector, acquired new skills that I can put into practice in the professional realm and gotten new and knowing that I can someday put all my new skills into practice.
