My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Metropolitan New York Coordinating Council on Jewish Poverty, New York, NY, USA
In about 2002, my washing machine flooded my landlord's apartment, and I was evicted. Met Council got me a grant for security deposit and a few months rent. The social worker I dealt with was always very pleasant, too. More recently, I used their report on Jewish poverty to provide me with statistics to bolster an article I wrote on health care reform and the Jewish community. (I'm a freelance writer.)
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
They provide many services to the Jewish community.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very kind and understanding
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Reach out and connect to more people. Who knows? Maybe they'd head a health insurance co-op for Jews.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
About once a year
