Review for YOUR DOG'S FRIEND, Potomac, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Can't say enough wonderful things about YDF and all the people involved with this group. Amazing that this is a non-profit -- their free seminars, donation-based training classes and endless online resources are invaluable for all dog owners. Of course, I would have paid much more for their Reactive Dog training. I am so grateful that a former volunteer/Petsmart trainer suggested that I contact YDF, Debra Ekman and Michelle Mange about the training they offered for Reactive Dogs. I didn't even know what a Reactive dog was let alone that I had one -- and a jumbo one at that. My Great Dane is the sweetest, smartest dog I've ever owned, But....she became hysterical whenever we got within sight or smell of another dog on our walks. Same thing with the sound of dog tags jingling in a backyard. Or the slam of a front door. Or a bunch of people talking in their frontyards. In just 7 months we are now able to get by most dogs and situations with ease -- and a lot of positive distraction. The seminars given by professionals in the area are great, too. I have attended -- and dragged family members to a number of them. We were all very happy we had gone. Most importantly, Michelle Mange, Debra Ekman and numerous volunteers are always available by email to jump in and help everyone. If you have ANY issues with man's best friend, DO NOT HESITATE to contact Your Dog's Friend. You will save big money on private trainers and even more importantly, you will learn things and get problems solved you might not know you have. There are no bad dogs -- just people who don't understand them.
