GENTLE BARN FOUNDATION
February 26, 2013

My Name is Dwayne,

I been a volunteer for 2 years at The Gentle Barn as a Special Person to a horse name Willy Wonka, I would like to attend a open public discussion. Willy was part of my life for those 2 years which end up getting me into Equine Massage Therapy for which found a passion in helping horses like Willy in pursue a career in Veterinary, and during the days I been there I seen & heard so much.

This my personal experience with The Gentle Barn.

During my time with The Gentle Barn which is has a very rewarding, and which learned a lot from, but during the two years therefore witness and heard a lot from Those who managed the Gentle Barn. I was Willy Wonka Special person which volunteered almost every day including Christmas, and other Holidays which been cared for almost 8 hour a day. Willy had an old sports injury which he re injured from being overridden while being ridden at the Gentle Barn. Gentle Barn hosted a Deep Tissue massage class which I took to help Willy’s injury, and I learned different modalities on my own, so I can better benefit Willy’s recovery. Willy gotten a massage everyday, because Willy’s injury would be considered acute which took 6 Months to also fully recovered, but took a month for him to be able to walk comfortably.

During the “60 Cows” Campaign which they asked a donation of $100,000 which anonymous donor would match in total of $200,000 to build two barns. The pictures in the propaganda’s were the cows that they already had, and already have $200,000 donated on the day that they aired on Ellen. On personal account overheard Jay telling the paid Board of Directors not tell or post that already the goal already has been met, which they announced a few weeks after the show was aired. Ellie keeps on reminding the volunteers (I) that we still waiting on the auctioneer to call, and not to ask us about the cows. The campaign been taken off the website, and comments on Facebook were removed.

There were not personal income from Ellie or Jay, and the only income was from the donations.

The Gentle Barn got willed two horses(Monty & Ruby) with an estate of $200,000 for their care. Ruby has a tumor in her reproduction organs needing Medication prescribed by Sweet Water Ranch Veterinary Clinic. The Gentle Barn took her off the medication that she needed.
