I been a volunteer with The Gentle Barn(GB) Foundation from 2010 to 2012. Some people say I got banned from GB which actually did happen, but not the actual case. I am going to clarify what actually happen, and the reason why I left. While volunteering there were a lot of bad gossips going around from the other volunteers, talking about other volunteers, the staff, and even about Ellie and Jay. People will talk behind someone’s back, and created this packing order. They don’t like you, or you stepped on their toes, they would do anything to get you out. They will literally fabricate a false story to get you in serious trouble. I was on the receiving end of it. Addition to the gossip, I endured a lot of bullying, and ridicule from volunteers, the staff, and even from Ellie and Jay. I’ve been called a lot of insulting names, comments, behavior, and threats made about harming the horse that bonded and even been yelled at. The gossip, and the ridicules gotten worse and worse that turn the GB from a place of healing to a very toxic place. So much stress and anxiety came so overwhelming that cause so much emotional distress that I had to leave The Gentle Barn by my own choice. I got banned because all I wanted is change, because they accuse me of trying to shut them down. Is change really that bad? Why?
