A short term visit to Uganda to work with the staff and kids of Children of Grace changed my life forever in a very positive way. Why? Seeing these orphan kids appreciate the simple opportunity of going to school, despite the circumstances of their living conditions, with joy and smiles that can only be a testimony of God's love for them. Because there are people around the world with 'means' and a heart for 'the least of these', hundreds and thousands of kids who otherwise don't have the hope of accomplishing their dreams through a basic K-12 education, are given that opportunity. The local Ugandan staff of Children of Grace dedicate themselves everyday to mentoring, coaching, disciplining and just plain loving on these kids. I witnessed that personally for almost two years while living in Uganda and serving with Children of Grace with my wife and daughter. Experiencing life on the 'front lines' in a developing country helped me learn what 'serving' is all about and the renewed hope given to these kids through the Children of Grace ministry.
