I am so happy to see the Chronic Disease Fund listed on Charity Navigator. In 2008 after my husband had been diagnosed with leukemia, his doctor prescribed revlimid which was going to cost us $3,700 a month. Although he was covered by Medicare, our supplemental insurance company considered it a specialty drug and said we would be responsible for most of the cost of the drug. His doctor requested help from the maker of the drug, but they determined our family income was too high and wouldn't help us, so he put us in touch with the Chronic Disease Fund, and after sending them the information they requested and one follow-up phone call, he received the drug quickly and at a cost of only $75 a month which we thought was reasonable. I think it is a wonderful organization.
