A lonely fifty five year old man, recently widowed and isolated from the community by virtue of a long-standing phobia, is visited by a case worker in his home. Unable to take advantage of social services or counseling because of his extreme anxiety in public places, Don can only be reached by an organization willing to go not only the extra mile, but all the way to his home. The life-line FEGS extended to this man, my neighbor and friend, holds the promise of restoring him to life.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
competent, caring, and conscientious.
