My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Epilepsy Foundation Of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ, USA
I was initially acquainted with the Epilepsy Foundation in 2010, when I had my first seizure. Up to that point, I wasn't even sure what epilepsy was, and I had no idea how to deal with it. The Epilepsy Foundation was quite helpful, friendly, and encouraging in getting me back to normal and teaching me more about the condition, as well as how to go about my daily life with it. Since then, I've taken the opportunity to work as a counselor at their summer camp, "Camp Candlelight", as well as volunteer in their office a couple times a week. They are a small organization, yes, and have limited resources to work with in assisting all who need assistance, but they are quite focused on their goals, very willing to help you. If you are interested in volunteering with this organization, I would strongly suggest it; you will always feel as if you are contributing to something larger, and the extra hands are definitely needed here.
