“The Marian Chace Foundation of the American Dance Therapy Association is a non-profit organization established for the purposes of furthering educational, scientific, literary and artistic development of dance/movement therapy. It is supported solely by public donations and any profits from publications. Marian Chace pioneered dance as a therapeutic tool in the 40s and 50s at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, DC.” (www.adta.org)
The foundation has produced many publications about dance/movement therapy and supports research in the profession. As a former President of American Dance Therapy Association, I support this excellent foundation and its goals. It is an important resource for the profession of dance/movement therapy. A co-author and I received a small grant from the foundation to support the first book about research methods written for dance/movement therapists.
