Our family was fortunate to attend the IOH New York City retreat a few weeks ago. I was very nervous about the retreat because I was scared that we would be sad on vacation. I was also apprehensive about traveling with so many people. I wasted so much time worrying! It was wonderful from start to finish. The counseling was very cathartic and the other families were very sweet and positive. The experience was just what we needed after the year our family has had. What makes IOH so special is the volunteers. They spent all of their time making sure that we were having fun. They played with our children and gave up time with their own families to be there to help ours. They took pictures and treated us like we were very special. We left feeling happy and uplifted and like we were leaving family. It truly is an experience of a lifetime.
