We just got back from a great service trip we took to Panajachel the week of Thanksgiving. We worked with Mayan Families and their tremendous staff during this week and were once again very happy with both the work they lined up for us and assisted with and the work they do tirelessly when teams like ours are not there helping. We installed ONIL Stoves, helped with chicken donations (egg laying), feeding programs for the elderly, working in their pre-schools, and construction for a new home for one of Mayan Families clients. Really can't say enough about how good the staff was pretty well top to bottom to work with and our hosts were tremendous. I'd encourage anyone thinking about doing service work in the Pana area (and beyond) to contact the folks @ Mayan Families. They are so well connected in the community and respected by all who come in contact them. If your travels don't take you to Guatemala - think about donating to this group - your money will be very well used in a place that the needs seem endless.
