NEW MOON FARM
November 19, 2012

I had to surrender an elderly sheep and a livestock guardian llama to New Moon due to a divorce and sale of my farm. The rest of my flock was sold back to the farms where they were born, but my granny sheep was more difficult to place since she wouldn't be bred any longer. Also, I wanted him the llama to be with another flock of sheep so he could continue his good work, but could not find a place for him in my state. For just shy of a year, I couldn't bear to write to ask, as giving them up broke my heart. Today, I received terrific news from Ellen: "Nut [the sheep] was adopted, along with her sheep friend Mocha, to a great home with lots of other sheep and 20 fenced acres. She really is living a sheepie dream! Yama [the Llama] is with other llamas, and his small herd of Shetland sheep, and seems to be doing great." If I lived closer, I would volunteer at this amazing place. Ellen does a life-saving job with the help of many dedicated volunteers.
