Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation
November 16, 2012

My son was born with a congenital disorder that has caused him to endure more than thirty surgeries at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. If not for the outstanding care that he has received, he would not be alive today. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation ensures that all children receive the same state-of-the-art, patient & family-centered care that my son has received by raising much needed awareness and funds. The foundation staff works dilligently and tirelessly for our children to raise funds to support the Free Care Fund, Equipment, and Programatic needs that otherwise would not be offered. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC is able to care for all children regardless of their insurance and ability to pay because of the hard work and dedication of the foundation staff. I whole-heartedly support Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, and feel fortunate that we have a wonderful foundation who supports our children through their outstanding efforts.

Friends of Quaker Valley Schools
November 16, 2012

FRIENDS OF QUAKER VALLEY SCHOOLS Education Foundation was founded with a vision to help the students in the Quaker Valley School District in the Leetsdale/Sewickley, PA area. With more than 400 students under the poverty limit, now more than ever, we need funds to help support the programs that will give these students a chance to participate in life-changing activities. Children who are involved and active are more successful in their academics and life. The Education Foundation provides scholarships and awards to students who excel because they were given the support and chance to become motivated and successful students. We help to provide that motivation and drive to succeed. Furthermore, "FRIENDS" provides support by underwriting our Community Worker who helps students have access and participate in after-school activities to prevent at-risk behaviors. It funds the after-school Arts/Robotics programs promoting technology and the arts to give the students an outstanding state-of-the-art after-school experience to succeed in a technologically advanced society. We have underwritten the Cyber-Wellness Center at the Middle School to help students live healthier lives and "Excercise to Success". My children have all graduated or will graduate from the Quaker Valley School District and I am confident that they have received the most outstanding education and opportunity for success, in part, because they are supported by the FRIENDS OF QUAKER VALLEY SCHOOLS Education Foundation. "FRIENDS" is truly a friend to the school district, community, parents, and students. They give hope to students who may otherwise fall behind in an ever-changing and progressive world. "FRIENDS" supports and cares for the stuents with diligence and drive to make a difference in their lives. I whole-heartedly support the FRIENDS OF QUAKER VALLEY SCHOOLS Education Foundation and I hope you will do the same.

Allegheny Valley School

My son was born with a congenital disorder that has caused him to have more than thirty surgeries with an MR/Autistic diagnosis. I will need a residential living situation for him in the future. I found NHS/AVS and was immediately impressed. The staff were warm and welcoming. The facility is outstanding with a beautiful sensory garden, indoor pool facilities, wonderful group homes with loving care-givers, and work programs for the residents to give them independence and pride in their abilities. It is a safe, loving, and nurturing environment that will replace my son's loving home when I am no longer able to care for him in the future. Benjamin is a sweet, kind, loving, young man, and I am confident that at NHS/AVS he will receive the kind of care that gives me hope for him to be as independent, productive, and successful as he can be, in a nurturing and caring environment full of opportunity, dignity, and purpose.
