Over 15 year ago I became involved with the Friendly Center because as a family therapist I was witness to the struggles of individuals and families. So I got involved and was on the board of directors for 9 years. The agency has always been open to listening to the communities needs and making appropriate adjustments in order to promote education, self-sufficientcy and family stabilization. The community events have united families in positive activities and have been part of the traditions of the neighborhood. While I am no longer on the board of directors, my involvement as continued to be an integrated part of the many volunteers that it takes to run programs and raise money so that Friendly Center can continue it's mission. The experience has changed me for the better and I am grateful.
