TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation
November 27, 2012

This unique non-profit has a mission of improving the quality of life for women with breast cancer by providing, promoting and advocating specialized rehabilitation. . It is the only organization in the Southeast that provides specialized, comprehensive survivorship support including psychosocial, physical and rehabilitation therapy to women living with and surviving breast cancer. TurningPoint has become a model of rehabilitation care for women with breast cancer locally and nationally. Having lost my mother to breast cancer at age 7, this is an organization that has great relevance to me, particularly as I see the enormous impact it is having on the lives of women who are battling and beating breast cancer. I've talked to many women who have benefited from TurningPoint's broad range of services and learned much more about the critical role that rehabilitation plays in their road to recovery. And more people need to know about them! As TurningPoint approaches its 10th anniversary in 2013, they are looking to move to a larger facility to reflect the growing need for all that they offer.

PROJECT GRAD-ATLANTA INC
November 13, 2012

I've gotten to know the work of Project GRAD Atlanta very well the last couple of years as a volunteer and Board member and could not be more impressed with this organization and all it is doing to move the needle when it comes to impacting the lives of young people and the work they are doing in the classroom on the path to high school and college graduation. This is an organization that doesn't just talk the talk, they act every single day while working with a broad range of aspiring students and show the fruits of their labor with exceptional metrics. The bottom line is Project GRAD is having an enormous effect on the lives of hundreds of young people in Atanta every year. The staff is topnotch, led by executive director Dr. Yolanda Watson Spiva, one of the most accomplished educators in Atlanta.
