The Oasis has become home to so many birds and other animals that the owners either don't want or can't care for. It is so sad that our society thinks of these creatures as "throwaway"...unwanted...abused and neglected. These animals and birds don't understand why their owners don't want them anymore or abuse them. The Oasis gives them a safe haven to live out their years without having to be afraid of being hurt, neglected or passed around. The staff and volunteers give unselfishly of their time and money, their care and compassion, their joys and sorrows to all who call Oasis home. I would love to be a volunteer but I live 3 states away so it is not possible. I will continue to donate what I can when I can and know that it does go to the feeding, caring and the improving of the lives of all that live there and not the inflated salaries of some of the other non profits.
