There are only two non-profits for which I write endorsements. The High Fives Foundation is one of these organizations.
Roy Tuscany, one of the co-founders of the High Fives Foundation, continues to grow this non-profit with a primary focus in mind: "To raise money and awareness for athletes who suffer life-altering injuries while pursuing their dream in winter-action sports."
What I admire most, however, is how the Foundation has grown their efforts into adjacent causes, including teaching children how to participate in winter sports while being as safe as possible (the B.A.S.I.C.S program).
The High Fives Foundation is a non-profit to watch and support.

Disabled Sports USA had been one of my favorite non-profits since 1996 when I first met the executive director, Kirk Bauer, at Ski Spectacular -- one of the premier DSUSA events that is held in Breckenridge, CO.
This organization was started by Vietnam veterans in 1967 to help returning veterans with disabilities build confidence by learning to ski. Early on, the DSUSA motto, "If I can do this, I can do anything," was born.
DSUSA has grown over the years and services over 60,000 youth, wounded warriors and adults every year. They have built a nation-wide chapter since that now exceeds 100 in number and provides instruction in over 30 sports. And DSUSA accomplishes this with a small, hard-working staff that allows the organization's dollars to be maximized for its constituents.

Roy Tuscany and the High Fives Foundation has a crystal-clear mission. They are dedicated to raising money and awareness for athletes who have suffered a life-altering injury while pursuing their dream in the winter action sports community. The High Fives Foundation's use of social media is changing how people are perceiving the abilities and impact of their supported athletes who just happen to have a disability.

Disabled Sports USA has been one of my two key recipients of my charitable contributions for the last 15 years. The reason for my support is the organization's wide reach in serving and supporting people with disabilities and their quest to be involved in physical activity. Since the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, DSUSA expanded its outreach to wounded warriors and has gone on to create Warfighter Sports for this group. This focus has brought worldwide coverage of the topic of what people with disabilities can do.
