I have been privileged to participate in the past two NCYLS Leadership Seminars as a volunteer, as well as a donor. The first day of each seminar, I witnessed the arrival of the students, all a little timid and nervous - no more than two participants from the same school. They were welcomed by a wall of energy generated by enthusiastic volunteer staff members. The participants were quickly divided into teams, each team with its own leaders, team banner, and yes - group chant. The following days then became a loud, happy, busy blur of team bonding activities, amazing inspirational speakers, individual and group leadership coaching - all creating countless opportunities for individual growth. The last morning of the seminar, I watched as the parents joined their students for the closing session, and got a taste of the confidence building, energizing, inspiring events their children had just experienced. I have no doubt that the positive benefits from the NCYLS seminar will continue to benefit each and every student for years to come. And I will continue to relish the opportunity to donate enough to pay for one student to attend each and every seminar.Every year. Susan Butterworth Clark
