In the late '90s I began supporting The Oasis by sponsoring an African Grey that had been relinquished to the sanctuary. Brody's story is one of heartache...not so uncommon for so many of the birds that are helped by our organization. As an owner of several rehomed birds I knew that parrots were so often neglected and abused...how could I not help those in need to have a home that would be their safe haven for the remainder of their life. This is what The Oasis provides. Today....I have dedicated my life to working with the birds of The Oasis. From my first connection with Brody to now managing the care of the 700+ birds in residence, I know that the mission of The Oasis and high standards of care have never wavered. Everyone involved, from staff, volunteers, board of directors and our amazing supporters...is completely dedicated to the well being of each and every bird. I feel The Oasis is an AMAZING organization that has saved many birds from a life of suffering.... but has also touched the hearts of so many people, as it did mine.
