This rescue is located in Cottonwood, Ca Not Bethel Island, Ca. Safe Haven is an all volunteer based and donation supported rescue and sanctuary. They are a No Kill rescue. They have been saving and helping horses since Jan. 1995. 100s of horses have come through Safe Haven. They bring horses back to good health and get them adopted into great loving and caring forever homes. Some of the horses will live their lives at Safe Haven. They have a sponsorship program that people and families can sponsor a horse at Safe Haven, its like having their own horse. They come out and help take care of the horses, feed, groom, ride and love. The program is great for people that don't have a place for a horse, can't afford a horse or want to learn all about having horses. The sponsorship program is also a fundraiser that helps pay for feed and vet care for the horses, as well as the adoption fees and other fundraisers. There are families that have been sponsoring horses for several years. Everyone at Safe Haven are their for the horses. There is never ending love and care for all the horses. And many amazing stories of horses near death that are now living very happy healthy lives. Please visit their web site and also look them up on facebook.com

This is the only one of its kind as far as I am concerned. They help and save so many horses. The gelding clinics have help so many horses and their owners. Shirley is a hero and an equine Angel for sure. I have worked with Shirley for years and so look forward to many more years.
