I have been a member of Assistance League of Sacramento for over 10 years. I am awed how 250 members can contribute over 43,000 hours annually with another 28,500 hours donated annually by our community member volunteers. Our nine community based programs support children through Operation School Bell, Eyes Right, Kids on the Block, History in a Trunk, bears for tramatized children, and support homeless women returning to work through Clothes for Careers, scholarships for community college students, and seniors through our Senior Friendship programs. Even excess items from our thrift shop benefit our community through our Waste Not program by donating them to the Salvation Army and Loaves and Fishes.
