I have volunteered to sort out donated clothes, shoes, toys and school supplies that are then packed into labeled boxes and loaded into shipping containers. I did that several times in 2011 and 2010. I am proud to have been part of that exercise. I observed that the Zakat Foundation of America offices are simply furnished with bare necessities and computers. They are housed in a one storey unimposing brick building. There is nothing superfluous about their quarters . . which leads me to conclude that the organization is frugal, when it comes to using donated money for themselves and using most of the money for those who need help. The director and his family are active contributing members of the community and are known for their integrity. I am including them in my review because I believe that they represent the Foundation.
