MEEC has changed my classroom! I am teacher with the AVUHSD in Palmdale HS. I teach the Game Design course. We were introduced with MEEC by other teachers involved in their Service Learning Project. In the past we 'ignored' MEEC as it did not apply to our game design class, we were WRONG. When we got involved, their conference/workshops throughout the year taught how schools/classrooms can be involved in projects with their community. Yes, it is focused sustainability but the model itself is invaluable. It turned my classroom from what it was a few years ago as just a classroom, to what it is now a Virtual Enterprise. We run a simulated business centered around a product that helps the community if not nation. Students take complete ownership of the business. We currently are working with MEEC to co-develop a K-5 video game towards sustainability learning.
