Friends of Camp Little Notch is committed to maintaining a beautiful property in Fort Ann, NY, within the Adirondack Park. FoCLN gives life to our mission statement--living in harmony with nature, each other, and ourselves--by promoting fellowship among members, operating a program for girls during the summers, and maintaining the property as a kind of retreat from every day. Volunteers find themselves active and outdoors, helping to maintain the camp property, but also find time to share meals and experiences with other members. This truly dedicated group of people have raised astonishing amounts of money to protect a place they love and wish to preserve. This is a wonderful organization, and I am very proud to be a part of it.

ACS is an inclusive and civic-minded organization that allows local groups to engage in high-minded civil debate. It creates a forum to discuss issues of the day. Although its stated mission--toward a progressive vision of the Constitution--is liberal, I have found that ACS engages with our brothers on the other side frequently and with great success. This is a private organization that manages to draw attention to differences of policy and opinion without becoming strident or intolerant. I am very proud to count myself a member of ACS. It is truly a great nonprofit organization.
