Review for 231 Buckley Club, Aurora, CO, USA
While it is true that the club does run "rough-shod" over the group, it is that way because the group considers the club inseparable. It has been that way since its inception, over 20 years ago. It is not in alignment with tradition six, but it is true that this group would cease to exist if "the club" were to dissolve for any reason. that is not right, but that is the way it is and has been during its entire history. By forming a 501(c)3 organization, the members of the group do an "end-around" the AA traditions. Does this mean that there is no good recovery available? NO. Does it mean newcomers have no understanding of the difference between the group and the club? YES. If and when the club does fall apart, there are those of us within the 231 AA "group" that are ready and willing to ensure that an AA group will still be around to serve this part of Aurora.
