Burma Humanitarian Mission is one of the more efficient, "lean and mean" organizations I have encountered. A very high percentage of their donations actually make it into the hands of the people they help in he form of medicine and supplies to combat a whole host of primarily health care issues, the main one being Malaria. The growth they have sustained in even the most difficult economic times is impressive, and the volunteers, board members, advisors and donors are the highest quality people in terms of selfless giving and compassionate service to others.
