I do not understand this group. We called to inquire about a dog, Traxx, being fostered by FOHA in Aldie, VA. We were told that we are not within their metro area. We live 10 miles west of their cutoff. The person imparting the information was rude and short in her response. The next day I emailed them offering to pay their gas to do a home check, since we are only 10 miles west of their cutoff and we really wanted the dog. I heard nothing back, but my partner got an email saying the fosterer was adopting the dog. We believe that they simply wanted to get rid of us. It is no wonder so many homeless dogs and cats never get homes. Rescue groups have inflexible rules, and this group was just one that falls in that category. It has always been my understanding that fosterers do not keep the dog or if fosterer may wish to keep the dog, the dog is not put on the "adoptable" list. Having just lost our beloved beagle mix, once again we were put through a grieving via this rejection. I used to donate to this organization, but no more, EVER.
