Review for The Hillel JUC of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I became involved when I was brought by a friend to a Shabbat dinner, where more than a hundred kids were singing, praying, and eating together. It was a wonderful, emotional thing to watch. It made me know that this Hillel is very special and an organization I want to be part of.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Watching the impact of our strong Board leadership on the facility and programming offered at Hillel.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Extremely competent, creative, experienced, and compassionate to the students.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expand programming into the community; include other campuses that have a Jewish student body but not enough to have their own Hillel on campus; offer free Shabbat dinners and other programming that is badly needed; hire an additional Jewish professional.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

Review for J'Burgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

J'Burgh has become an essential tool in the Pittsburgh Jewish Community's quest to create a welcoming, supportive environment for Jewish young adults. It bridges a gap between Hillel's efforts and those of our United Jewish Federation, and offers an inviting "home" for 20-somethings who need social and professional networking opportunities.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Being part of the planning process as a Hillel Board member

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Devoted, skilled, energetic, and communally focused
