Arizona Russian Center
May 19, 2012

In Phoenix AZ we have a substantial Russian – speaking community, and a lot of people who are interested in Russian/former Soviet Union language, culture, traditions, history, etc.. The Arizona Russian Center, organizes variety of the events, which provides an excellent opportunity for any interested to learn the culture, meeting new people, practice Russian, showcase talents, and celebrate traditional Holydays. One of the latest and big events, which was organized by ARC was a New Year celebration. The event was fun, artistic and very interesting. Participants who are new to the Russian culture, learned about the Grand Father Frost (Ded Moroz) and his Granddaughter Snow Girl (Snegurochka) and their role in the New Year. I hope we will have more similar opportunities to participate in this kind of events. I also wish for expansion of their organization for additional services and programs, such as language classes, traditional dancing, singing and other.

S H I E L D Foundation
May 19, 2012

The S H I E L D Foundation, provides very important services for people in their most vulnerable situations. Having some place to go for shelter, receive an advise on what to do now, get encouragement and basic hope that eventually this situation can be solved is very important especially for woman who is new to the country, and might not have any one to go or ask for help or any resources to support herself and her children. The S H I E L D Foundation provides all their services free of charge, and what is very important for Russian speaking victims on their own language. I am certainly hope that this organization continues their services for years to come in their mission of helping people in their life crisis situations. Thank you.
