In 2005, our Pastor asked if we could host a friend of his from Uganda - Rev. John Mulindabigwi. We are so thankful we could! His vision of a place to educate young people in vocational training struck a cord in our hearts - for with education, people can and do prosper. We signed on to help in many ways from the USA. Our two young sons prevented us from travelling to Uganda - but our church has sent many mission teams to the Western parts of Uganda to witness, to build, to teach. Our hope is to join those who have been there and teach as well! What a blessing to see the growth of the school and the corresponding village - Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational Institute - all stemming from the vision of Rev. John and his wife Jolly. To hear the testimony of the graduates, to see their lives changed, to learn of those who give their lives to Christ and become all they can be - what a blessing to be able to participate! And now, with this school, lives are growing and changing for the better! The school hires many local adults, creating job opportunities where few outside of farming existed before - the government is supportive in their expansion of electrical services towards the school - and the children come from miles and miles around. Thanks to a diverse educational mission, classes for both men and women are firmly in place and producing graduates who can go forth and start businesses or find a high-paying job. Many continue with their educations on a higher level. This is a success in action!
