My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Erowid Center, Grass Valley, CA, USA
I not only volunteer for Erowid, but I also use the site for personal information on a daily basis. The site has concise and accurate information about common substances used for recreation, and a wealth of information on less popular chemicals. The Experience vault is fabulous, with an enormous amount of helpful information. Volunteering for Erowid is also great, the crew is helpful and fun to work with. The work is fairly easy, almost never tedious, and you learn a lot while you do it. The IRC is particularly helpful, somebody is almost always logged in. All in all, I probably wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Erowid, as I found some crucial information on the site a couple times, going forth without this info would've been disastrous.

I've learned a lot about people in general, the way they think, feel, live, etc. Seeing these experiences, depending on the report, makes me vicariously see through another's eyes. Which, in sort of an odd way, has given me a connection to these people, in a similarly odd way, has made me a more compassionate person.
