United Community Against Poverty is the worse organization that I came across. I have worked at several organizations and I never seen one that operated so unprofessionally. They will tell a client that they are approved for utility assistance but won't send a check until 3 or 4 months later. You don't provide services like that. These clients depend on these services. It's so much bickering that goes on with staff. What this place need is new management and a good audit review from the Department of Social Services and from HUD. These two departments need to review UCAP's client files page by page and then they will find out the truth. It won't hurt to audit their financial records also.
