First Glance Student Center, Inc.

First Glance is a fabulous organization that was started up in the inner city and caters to young teens who really have it rough. They provide a place to come and have a good time without the use of drugs or other illegal activities. They provide mentors for the kids that are always willing to listen and offer support through difficult times. They offer education as well as tangible items to young mom's who are struggling trying to raise children in a tough environment. They teach kids about Christ's love and encourage them to become involved in local churches where they can learn more and make a difference in their communities. I don't know of a more positive nonprofit organization than this one in our community. We are very lucky to have such wonderful leaders in our neighborhood with a passion for kids and this community.

seeing the change in many of the teens involved in this organization from thugs on the street to teen leaders making a difference in their community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

participating in the Teen Mom's program hosting baby shower's. Seeing the smiles on the Mom's faces when they see all the leaders and volunteers who come to support them and offer them gifts is priceless.

passionate, fun, energetic and enthusiastic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

offer so much more to the community it is situated in. It could help with the costs of expanding their building, for funding their Teen Mom's program and the babies who are in need of supplies, and for paying additional people to help run the org.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial and for more dedicated volunteers to meet the demands of a growing number of teens participating in the program.

I hope they win the contest because they deserve it!

Volunteer & I've assisted with renovating their building, I've volunteered to host baby showers for their Teen Moms and have served at some of their events.
