I have no direct relations to Habitat For Horses, but have met a couple of members and have been following some of the rescue stories and blogs. I have great admiration for the leaders of this organization and their tremendous compasion for live, truth, and fairness. Their philosophy is so much greater than to rescue, rehabilitate, and adopt horses into homes, to repeat the circle over and over again. While just these actions are admirable themselves, their work goes far beyond that. Sometimes I start to doubt myself and wonder if there is something wrong with me. I may not be seeing the whole picture. Am I right when I try to explain to my vet, my farrier, my in-laws, my friends, my family why I believe that killing horse under false pretense is wrong, why I believe that animals don't belong in cages, why I see no joy in a picture of a youth who just killed his first deer, why I spay my animals and think so should everyone else because I am so tired of these innocent creatures having to die for no good reason, why I believe people should not have pets unless they take care of all aspects of their wellbeing, why I believe people should not profit at others expense, financially or for entertainment, why I believe that people should be held responsible for their actions - all of them!! No, there is nothing wrong with me! Habitat for Horses - this name does not do justice to this organization - they represent "Compassion for Life, Truth, and Fairness"
