I volunteer to do some things at the Center for Great Apes. I was pulled in as a favor to a friend about 6 years ago. I was amazed at the Sanctuary. The grounds, facilities, habitats - everything is so well taken care of, spotless, well-maintained. That is the first thing I noticed. Then - the chimpanzees and orangutans are so healthy, clean and happy. The team caring for the apes are professional, trained and impressive. Care, nourishment and enrichment for the chimpanzees and orangutans are priorities for the team. It is a well-run organization in regards to accomplishing their mission as well as in regards to running a professional, healthy non-profit sanctuary. They offer programs for school students and welcome donors and members at certain times of the year. This is a charity worth supporting.
