Second Chance is one of those rare organizations that has committed itself to a true triple bottom line. The workforce development program is addressing one of Baltimore's greatest social challenges, joblessness among those with barriers to employment. The totals tons of demo waste that is diverted from landfills and ultimately repurposed is a model for positive environmental impact. The thing I like most, however, is its ability to sustain itself financially; looking to the donor community for growth initiatives but not daily operations.
