Florida Keys Youth Sports Foundation
September 29, 2009

This organization the members go out of their way to encourage each child as an individual- regardless if their are 150 youth involved in the activity. They try to include as many children as they can - they continually crunch numbers and seek aid to help children be involved with the activities they coordinate. They give back to the community - When the schools lost funding for afterschool activities, this organization assembled a festival to raise funds for these activities - their gift exceeded prior years budgets allowing all new equipment and uniforms for the teams and compensation for coaches where none was previously budgeted for. I have coached basketball for the past four years and it has been a great experience for our entire family. The program is well organized and well managed.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

our community as I watch the public schools carry out after school activities although their funding was cut entirely. This organization raised enough money to buy new equipment and uniforms, plus pay Coach's fees where none had been paid in prior years.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I've enjoyed coaching within this organization. Everything is so well organized that I can completely devote my time to the team and not be concerned about scheduling, contact information, etc.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Encouraging, dedicated, loyal & energetic.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Build an indoor Basketball Court (to save rental costs), spend more time with the children who desire the discipline of team sports and not so much time raising money for their participation.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
