I have had the pleasure of working with the Florida Keys Children's Shelter through the eyes of State Government. While the environment, in terms of funding, isn't always the greatest, staff is always quick to offer suggestions for alternatives and is good on alerting the office of issues. We are blessed to have the Florida Keys Children's Shelter in our community to serve those constituent's are are most vulnerable, our children.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The scope and range of children the Shelter serves is incredible, from newborns to kids in their late teens! In the Florida Keys we have limited social services so non-profits pick up the slack, and the Shelter picks up a huge protion of that slack.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
Staff is always gracious for the assitance we offer even though the outcome might not be the best. Occasionally there is a panic moment when it comes to state funding, but usually the situation resolves itself in favor of the children.
