The National Road Heritage Corridor serves as an advocate for the preservation of historic sites along the the "Pike". We, with the Fayette County Historical Society, have partnered with this worthy organization on numerous occasions throughout the years. The staff is creative, disciplined, and professional. It is simply amazing the work they do with limited resources. Together we are working to try to do what is best with the Searight Toll house, one of two remaining toll houses located in Pennsylvania. This 1835 Historical Landmark needs constant care and attention and dedicated advocates. Our partnership is helping to protect this structure. Visitors from all over the United States come to see our "Old Gal". We appreciate the National Road's interest in this and our other interests.
