WHOLE-WAY HOUSE
February 24, 2012

The Whole-Way House, Inc. is a nonprofit organization, approved by Texas Division of Parole, alternative housing program for those in recovery established in August 1995. Our program is designed to assist sisters and brothers being released from incarceration who are gainfully employed and or able to place a minimal of $400 deposit for the first month rent. Our program is designed for brothers and sisters who are requiring services such as housing, recovery base meeting, referrals, employment, and other special needs. We provide spiritual direction by establishing a relationship with one GOD.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Success of those who try this program it works if you work it.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Knowledgable, experienced and background in what they do. They have an passion for their work.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Expend locally, state, federally and world wide.

Ways to make it better...

If there were more money available and had local support from reglious communities alike.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Being diversifed, using interfaith dialouge efforts working with others.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Helping one family at a time...

WHOLE-WAY HOUSE
December 1, 2009

I recently attended a conference at Sam Houston State given by the Whole-Way House and the information and feedback from those in attendance was great and right to the point on reetry for those being release from incarceration from TDC or treatment facilities. There were those who are part of a peers support network for those in need of sponsors and locations of 12 steps groups.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

attendence of a recent conference and plan to attend the next schedule up coming one as a follow up.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Offer more conferences, workshops and seminars about the Whole-Way House to get their message out to families of recent incarcerated ex offenders and those from the community.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

To meet so many people in attendance who have a common bond in helping those with drugs, alcohol problems after being released back into society from incarceration and from the community at large.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Professional very knowable and committed to the Whole-Way House and some were in recovery themselves and understood the need of such programs as the Whole-Way House.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

If this organization had 10 million bucks, I think they double their returns in one year opening business related to the recovery process from those committed in staying clean and sober.

Ways to make it better...

the Whole-Way House could have access to funding, more community support.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Funding, funding and families and community support. There is monies avaiable from grants, government loans but some organizations lack long term committment.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Keep up the good work and don't give up before the mircle happens.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I ENJOYED THE MOST EXPERIENCE WHIT THIS NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION SEEING PEOPLE DO CHANGE WHEN GIVEN AN CHANCE AND SUPPORT NEEDED.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

THE KINDS OF STAFF OR VOLUNTEERS I HAVE MET ARE THOSE WHO ARE COMMITTED AND HAVE AN PASSION FOR THIS TYPE OF WORK WHO BELIEVE IN WHAT THEY DO.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

WITH 10 MILLION DOLLARS THIS ORGANIZATION COULD OPEN MORE FACILITIES,OFFER MORE SERVICES TRAVEL TO OTHER STATES AND SET UP PROGRAMMING NETWORKING WITH THOSE WITH SUCCESS.

Ways to make it better...

MY EXPERIENCE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF WE HAVE MORE FUNDING AND ACCESS TO SERVICES OFFERED TO THOSE WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE OR RELATED ISSUES.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES FACING THIS ORGANIZATION IS AGAIN FUNDING....TO HAVE FORMER CLIENTS RETURN AND BECOME APART OF THE SOLUTION RATHER THAN PART OF THE PROBLEM.

One thing I'd also say is that...

THIS IS A MULTICULTURE PROJECT OFFERING SERVICES TO ALL PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE, BECAUSE ADDICTIONS AFFECT EVERYONE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.
