I would give this organization 0 stars if I could. With the help of an oligarchy, it (with Jonah Edelman as leader) is out to destroy public schools--and with that, will go our democracy.

The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Seeing how this organization has negatively affected Oregon education politics. High-stakes teaching to the test is bad for all kids who are impacted by Edelman's reach. And when he boasts of how he clubbed teachers in Illinois behind their back, the reality just sinks in.
Ways to make it better...
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Eliminate the 501(c)4 and PAC and get back to the grassroots.

Badly

No
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
I have met other incredible people who became Stand for Children leaders and left the organization, disillusioned with Jonah Edelman's leadership. We are a new committed group of citizen activists who will now use our voice to advocate for public schools despite Mr. Edelman.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
I felt unworthy and unappreciated unless I towed their party line. I had absolutely no voice.
When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
