COZY CAT COTTAGE
August 23, 2011

This is the cleanest cat shelter I have ever been in. At Cozy Cat Cottage the needs of the cats always come first. In addition to helping stray and abandoned cats, this group helps citizens with trap, neuter, release projects, donations of food and supplies to care for feral colonies and low-cost spay/neuter assistance. The volunteers work their tails off to keep the shelter in top-notch condition and ensure that the feline residents want for nothing. If you like spending time with cats, this is a great place to do it.

The Great!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have repeatedly made use of the low-cost spay/neuter services provided by this group. This group has also helped me out with seriously injured, mistreated and abandoned cats and kittens.

Ways to make it better...

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

This group needs additional volunteers with diverse interests and talents, expecially in fund-raising. This would allow expansion and possibly a move to a location where the kitties would get greater exposure to the public and hopefully more good homes.

How did you find this group?

I had begun a tnr program in a small town and needed some assistance with low-cost spay/neuter and homes for kittens. I visited the shelter to ensure that it was what it said it was, a no-kill refuge for abandoned cats, and fell in love. That was 12 years ago and it has come to feel like a home and a family to me.

What, if any, change in your life has this group encouraged?

This group is a haven for die-hard, cat lovers. Many of the volunteers have been with the group for years and share a love for cats which engenders a sense of pride in the work they do on behalf of the cats. This is a great place to volunteer and furthermore, one can be assured that donations for the cats will always be used for some needy cat somewhere.

WILDLIFE HAVEN
August 23, 2011

I have been both a volunteer and a client served at Wildlife Haven and higly recommend everyone taking the time to get to know the place and the wonderful work that is done there. As a volunteer, I learned so many things about the behaviors, habitats and needs of the orphaned and injured wildlife that comes there for a second shot at life. As a client, I have called upon their services with creatures as varied as skunks, raccoons, grey squirrels and cormorants. Caring for the wide variety of wildlife that is taken there requires a round-the-clock commitment. Please consider this group when you are looking for a worthwhile cause and a committed group.

I've been blessed to witness the alleviation of suffering and to improve my own knowledge, skills and empathy.

This is without exception one of the best facilities of it's kind. The only change I would make would be to find a way to increase funding and volunteership so the group can expand its services to the countless animals needing help.
