As a lifelong horse owner and trainer, I am well versed in the horse industry, and can say confidently this group does not represent "United Horseman." Most horse people are opposed to horse slaughter, primarily because of the brutality inherent in the slaughter pipeline.

In addition, the large scope of activities HSUS is involved in is amazing. From local shelter assistance to wildlife sanctuaries to helping shape humane legislation for all animals - companion animals, livestock and wildlife - they are the most effective agency for protecting the voiceless.
As a volunteer and donor to this organization, I cannot say enough about the valuable work they do.

Their support in eliminating the unscrupulous and inhumane horse slaughter industry in the U.S. (I own and train horses). I've also seen their work in disaster response, which is amazing.
