My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Canines for Service, Wilmington, NC, USA
My family - me, my sons Eli (13) and Noah (10) and our dogs Jackson and Nobelle are all involved with Carolina Canines as pet therapy teams. This summer (2009) we have been working at the local library to help children improve and practice their reading skills. It has been very rewarding to be a part of Carolina Canines, to see the progress of the readers each week, and to volunteer together with my children and dogs. We had one mother tell us that her son (a delayed reader) practices during the week so that he can "do a good job for Jackson"!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing the progress and improvement of the children who read to us every week.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
working with our dog to help others.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
move to a larger facility, train more service dogs to be placed with those in need, and offer more pet therapy team programs in the community.
