My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Heaventrain, Cleveland, OH, USA
I have been involved with this organization for about three years now. I can't explain how much it truly means to me and i wouldn't change that for the world. I have experienced nothing but good things through this organization, and it touches my heart till this day. My experiences are just amazing story's to pass on to the next generation and i wouldn't know where to begin. I have grown bond with several kids from here and always amazes me with the smiles and hugs i get. I love this organization with all my heart and im so grateful that i am involved at a young age and happy to be a part of it, and to see life changing story's. Keep up the great work, because they truly deserve all credit for it!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
By volunteering. You get an up close shot of how these kids live, it touches me.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
i wouldn't change a thing because i love it the way it is and it truly means a lot to me.
Would you volunteer for this group again?
For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?
Did the organization use your time wisely?
Would you recommend this group to a friend?
What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?
It has been running for 30 years and i have been a part of this organization for about 3 years and i still find it flawless with out a doubt.
Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)
Yes, it did by far. As a teen its hard to realize whats truly around you. It's the years where you feel like you run the world and need everything in possession to even feel a kind of popular. In reality, you step into the places where no one could imagine going and you think "hey these kids truly have no ground beneath them." Sometimes i wish more of the world could see this and be effected just like i was my first time. It teaches me how to get through things thick and thin.
How did this volunteer experience make you feel?
At first, i was truly afraid how kids would react and what it would be like but when your doing this and involved, you feel nothing but safeness and reality. It makes me feel happy to know i can be one to make someone smile who doesn't a lot. I really love it.
