Review for San Mateo Police Activities League, San Mateo, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is a true solution for societal problems involving our community. It creates opportunites for kids and teaches them to grow because it is consistent with good role models (police). It creates comraderie with kids of similar backgrounds to have new experiences in sports, computers, camping, fishing. We're very lucky to have good funding in San Mateo, but other communities need this service as well. It also helps police better understand their community's challenges, instead of 'us vs. them' mentality.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

recruit more volunteers!

Review for Yosemite Ridge At Camp Wawona Inc, Fresno, CA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

With fewer of these opportunities over the past 10 years, and even *less* right now, Asthma Camp helps us deal with real society problems. Kids enjoyed education with their comradarie of kids with same issues. My son was psych'd to use his new knowledge to take care of himself at home...and teach us! Later, we got to Family camp, which was also awesome. Again, mix education with hearing other family's experiences, mistakes, and successes. Great support volunteers! This is the right way to take care of society's problems, in this case, Asthma and poverty...but it has to be consistent.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

heal the world and avoid some serious threats to our society! Asthma is directly related to poverty and then makes it even worse! This is a true solution. Gets us hands-on involvement to educate and help ourselves.
