Volunteer USA Foundation sponsors the Teen Trendsetters Reading Mentors Program. They have over 110 programs in Florida high schools, where teens are trained to mentor elementary students struggling with their reading skills. This helps both the elementary students and the high school students. In the elementary students, improved reading will translate into better academic performance and self-esteem. For the high school students, it may foster interest in careers in teaching and public service. My niece participated in this program and had very positive things to say about her experience.
The Great!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
seeing the satisfcation it provided to my niece and spreading the word about volunteerism in the community, especially high school students.
